Remote key or proximity key?
A remote key can lock and unlock the doors while you still turn a blade in the ignition. A proximity key lets you start the car with a button. The key you need depends on the system fitted to your car.
If you’re unsure which you have, send us a photo and tell us how you start the engine.
A complete spare for your car
Tell us whether you need remote locking, push-button starting or both. We’ll explain which key is available and what the price includes.
Some smart keys also contain a small emergency blade. Cutting that blade alone won’t give you another working electronic key. If you’re looking at an online replacement, ask us about it before buying; matching the shape of the case isn’t enough.
Only have one working key?
Organising a spare now means you have another key to use if the first is misplaced. Call before your visit to find out whether the vehicle needs to be present and how long the work is likely to take.
If all keys are lost, or the only key no longer starts the car, tell us when you call. We’ll discuss what help is available. Mercedes-Benz vehicles from 2014 onwards are excluded.
More than a cut blade

Depending on your vehicle, making a spare can involve cutting the blade, cloning a compatible transponder or programming the new key to the car.
Some jobs use specialist software to communicate with the vehicle’s ECU or immobiliser. We check the system fitted and explain the work your key needs before you go ahead.

Does every proximity key cost $350?
$350 including GST is the starting price for eligible keys. Your make, model, year and key system determine the final price.
Can I get two proximity keys under the offer?
Yes, for supported vehicles and keys. Buy two duplicates for the same car in one transaction, pay full price for the higher-priced key and get the other half price.
Will a new battery fix my key?
A flat battery can stop a remote working, but there may be another cause. Tell us which functions have stopped working so we can look at the problem before you buy a new key.
Can I leave the key with you while I shop?
Ask the team when you arrive. We’ll let you know the expected timing and whether we need access to the car before you head off.
